Neurofeedback

Current/Previous Clients

Neurofeedback training is an effective and innovative technique in which the brain is trained to improve its ability to regulate bodily functions and to take care of itself.  Much like physical excercise improves our body over time, challenging the brain through the use of EEGs (electroencephalograms) and computer games, we can strengthen the areas that need improving.  Neurofeedback has been clinically proven to be effective in a wide variety of applications, including:

-Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

-Anxiety

-Depression

-Learning Disabilities

-Sleep Disorders

-Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

-Traumatic Brain Injuries

-Migraines

Dr. Lake initially received training in neurofeedback therapy in January 2007 to be able to provide an additional treatment option for children and/or adults with ADD/ADHD.  She has gone on to receive intensiv training in the use of neurofeedback for a variety of presenting issues.  She is also trained in the collection and interpretation of quantitative EEG (QEEG) data, which is used to guide the neurofeedback training.

Recent summaries of the research on neurofeedback conclude that this treatment modality can be quite effective with a number of presenting issues.  To see studies regarding neurofeedback, please go to the website of the International Society for Neurofeedback and Research (  www.isnr.org ) and look for the button that says “Comprehensive Neurofeedback Bibliography”.
